Dale McKinney

Dale McKinney is the founder of Floyd County Broadcasting, starting what began as WMDJ-AM 1440 in Martin, Kentucky in 1982. Dale later established WMDJ-FM 100.1 and the rest they say is history. Dale began his broadcasting career in the Washington D.C. market, working at WXRA/WMAL in the 1960s before returning home to eastern Kentucky. Dale is a member of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the 2019 KY Mic Award for excellence in broadcasting. Dale has been waking up folks on the radio in eastern Kentucky for 50 years. You can listen to him weekdays 5 a.m. until 9 a.m.

Sandy Howell

Sandy serves as Station Manager and Traffic Manager for Floyd County Broadcasting. She has been part of this family for decades and is everyone's big sister. She has a huge heart for everyone she meets. Sandy enjoys spending her free time with her grandchildren and family.

Bill Marshall

Bill "da bull" Marshall was part of the original air staff in the early 1980s when the station began. Bill is a familiar voice to listeners across eastern Kentucky. He loves a good novelty song and especially enjoys playing the classics on Way Back Wednesday. Bill is also a fan of classic cars, especially his El Camino.

Chris Porter

"The Porterhouse" has been with WMDJ for years, playing a smooth country sound to set the mood weeknights and Saturday night. Chris loves to travel and enjoys a Sunday rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chris has a witty sense of humor, which makes him one of the best personalities to listen and enjoy.

CJ the DJ

Carl Jarrell Jr. "CJ" has been in radio for over 30 years and is the host of "Melvin Goins Big Sandy Bluegrass Time" each Saturday morning at 10 a.m. on WMDJ. He is also host of "CJ's Country Classic Show" each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. CJ is a singer/songwriter and enjoys performing his favorite bluegrass and acoustic country songs.

JP Parsons

Jonah Parsons keeps the station cooking at night with a country-state-of-vibe. He's wears Tennessee Orange to support his Vols and he's a diehard Cleveland Browns fan. JP is also a "wrasslin'" fan (don't tell him it's staged)! He does his best to keep things positive for you on-air.

Josh works on our website, social media page, and will be heard on weekends. He is a Chicago-sports fan cheering on the Bears, Bulls and Cubs. He enjoys spending time with his Dad, playing video games, entertaining you with the best variety of weekend country music.

You'll find Lonzie each weekend hosting the WMDJ Sunday Morning Gospel Show from 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. Lonzie plays a great mix of bluegrass gospel and southern gospel favorites. Lonzie loves music and memorabilia. He's an avid sports card collector and loves bobbleheads.

Tim Michaels

Steve worked at WMDJ for years on the air, calling basketball games, and currently football games on Friday nights from around the region.
