MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WMDJ) — Just about everything that could go wrong for Cincinnati did Friday night, as the Milwaukee Brewers handed the Reds a 20-0 loss.

Milwaukee jumped on Andrew Abbott early, scoring twice in the first and six more times in the second. Abbott allowed eight runs on nine hits in just two innings.

The Brewers kept pouring it on, including an eight-run fifth inning highlighted by Garrett Mitchell’s grand slam. Brice Turang, Jake Bauers and William Contreras also homered as Milwaukee finished with 23 hits.

Cincinnati managed only two hits, both from Sal Stewart, and went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position. Brewers starter Jacob May tossed six scoreless innings before Craig Stallings finished the shutout.

The Reds will try to rebound Saturday night against the Brew Crew. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 6:40 on WMDJ FM 100.1.
