CINCINNATI, Oh. (WMDJ) — The Cincinnati Reds’ offense never got going Tuesday night, as the St. Louis Cardinals picked up a 3-0 win at Great American Ball Park.
Cincinnati managed just three hits in 30 at-bats, with Sal Stewart, Dane Myers and Ke’Bryan Hayes each collecting a single. The Reds went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position and struck out nine times.
Masyn Winn provided most of the damage for St. Louis. He broke the scoreless tie with a solo home run in the fifth inning, then scored on José Fermín’s RBI double in the seventh. Joshua Báez added a sacrifice fly in the eighth for the final run.
Andrew Abbott took the loss despite allowing just two runs over 6 1/3 innings while striking out six.
