CHICAGO, Ill. (WMDJ) — The Cincinnati Reds were held to just two hits Wednesday night as the Chicago White Sox evened their three-game series with a 5-0 win at Rate Field.

Chicago opened the scoring in the third when Drew Romo hit a solo home run off Reds starter Rhett Lowder. Lowder allowed two runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings, striking out four.

The White Sox extended the lead in the sixth when Chase Meidroth hit a two-run homer, making it 3-0.

Chicago added two more runs in the eighth. Romo drove in Colson Montgomery with a single before Tristan Peters scored on a wild pitch.

Sal Stewart accounted for both Cincinnati hits as the Reds struck out 13 times. Chicago starter Luis Castillo, and former Red, worked seven shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out 10. This is also Castillo's first win with the White Sox. 

The series is tied at one game apiece. Thursday’s rubber match begins at 2:10 p.m., with WMDJ pregame coverage starting at 1:40 p.m.
