KENTUCKY (WMDJ) — Eastern Kentucky basketball standout Braxton Keathley has announced his commitment to the University of the Pacific.
The former Martin County and Prestonsburg High School standout is coming off a dominant junior season in which he surpassed 3,000 career points and averaged 33 points and nine rebounds per game, finishing as Kentucky's second-leading scorer.
He was also named the 2025-26 MaxPreps Kentucky High School Basketball Player of the Year.
Earlier this summer, Keathley announced he would transfer to Prolific Prep in Florida for his senior season, where he will compete against many of the nation's top high school players.
Prolific Prep has produced numerous Division I and NBA players, including Darryn Peterson, who was selected second overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Keathley is expected to share the court this season with several highly regarded prospects, including five-star recruits Nasir Anderson, Malachi Jordan, Lewis Uvwo and Bamba Touray.
