Reds Snap Three-Game Skid with 4-1 Win Over Phillies

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WMDJ)  — The Cincinnati Reds got back in the win column Tuesday night, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 at Citizens Bank Park.

 

Philadelphia struck first on a solo home run by Trea Turner in the third inning, but Cincinnati answered in the fourth. Dane Myers and JJ Bleday each drove in a run on sacrifice flies to give the Reds a 2-1 lead.

 

The Reds added two more runs in the seventh. Blake Dunn scored on a Matt McLain fielder’s choice after a successful Reds challenge, and Elly De La Cruz followed with a bases-loaded walk to make it 4-1.

 

Cincinnati starter Chase Burns earned the win, allowing one run on three hits over six innings while striking out nine. Tony Santillan picked up the save.

 

The Reds had seven hits in the win, while the Phillies were held to three.

 

Cincinnati had lost its previous three games and they will look to win the series Wednesday afternoon against Philadelphia.

 

First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m., with the Inside Pitch pregame show starting at 12:35 p.m. on WMDJ FM 100.1.
