CHICAGO, Il. (WMDJ) — The Reds dropped their fifth straight game Wednesday night, falling to the Cubs 3-2 in 10 innings at Wrigley Field.

Cincinnati struck first in the opening inning when JJ Bleday launched a solo home run to right-center field for a 1-0 lead. Nathaniel Lowe added another solo shot in the sixth inning to push the Reds advantage to 2-0.

Andrew Abbott turned in a strong start for Cincinnati, tossing 5 and 2/3 scoreless innings while allowing four hits and striking out four.

Chicago began its comeback in the seventh inning on an RBI single from Alex Bregman that cut the deficit to 2-1. Michael Busch tied the game in the eighth with a solo homer to right-center field.

The Reds had another setback in the ninth inning when closer Emilio Pagán exited with a left hamstring injury after throwing just one pitch.

In the 10th inning, Busch delivered again with a walk-off RBI single to center field that scored Dansby Swanson and gave the Cubs the series-clinching win.

The Reds fall to 20-16 on the season. Game three of the series is Thursday night at 7:40 p.m. with the Inside Pitch pregame show starting at 7:10 on WMDJ FM 100.1.
