Rockies roll past Reds 13-2

CINCINNATI, Oh. (WMDJ) — The Cincinnati Reds fell behind early and never recovered in a 13-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night at Great American Ballpark.

Colorado broke the game open in the first inning. Brett Sullivan cleared the bases with a three-run double to give the Rockies a quick 3-0 lead.

The Rockies kept adding on. Willi Castro drove in a run in the third, and Hunter Goodman hit a solo home run in the fifth before adding a two-run shot in the seventh.

Cincinnati starter Brandon Williamson took the loss after allowing four runs in three innings. He exited the game early with left shoulder fatigue.

Colorado piled on late, scoring six runs in the ninth inning to put the game out of reach.

The Reds were held scoreless until the ninth, when Will Benson hit a two-run home run to avoid the shutout.

Cincinnati finished with 10 hits but struggled to convert with runners on base.

Reds catcher Jose Trevino actually pitched late in the game for the Reds, allowing five runs in one inning.

The Reds will look to bounce back and take the series Wednesday afternoon. The Inside Pitch pregame show begins at 12:10 p.m., with first pitch set for 12:40 on WMDJ FM 100.1.
