Reds snap skid with 7-3 win over Angels

CINCINNATI, Oh. (WMDJ) — The Cincinnati Reds ended a three-game losing streak Sunday with a 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels at Great American Ball Park.

Cincinnati finished with nine hits and took advantage of nine walks to generate offense throughout the game. Elly De La Cruz led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Spencer Steer added a run and an RBI, while Sal Stewart continued his strong start with a hit, two walks, and an RBI.

Noelvi Marte and TJ Friedl also crossed the plate as the Reds built enough cushion to hold off the Angels.

On the mound, Williamson went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits while walking six. The bullpen settled things down from there. Pierce Johnson earned the win in relief, striking out three over 1.1 scoreless innings. Graham Ashcraft, Tony Santillan, and Emilio Pagán combined to close out the game without allowing a run.

The Reds improve with the win and will wrap up the three-game series Monday afternoon.

First pitch is set for 1:40 p.m. with the Inside Pitch pregame show at 1:10 p.m. on WMDJ FM 100.1.
