EASTERN, Ky. (WMDJ) — Lawrence County sophomore Jada Patton scored 20 of her game-high 28 points in the second half, as she powered the defending champion Lady Bulldogs to a 59-52 upset of top-seeded Floyd Central Monday night in the semifinals of the 58th District Tournament.
Patton also grabbed six rebounds, and because of her performance, was named Community Trust Bank Player of the Game.
Trailing 29-21 at halftime, the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Jaguars 38-23 in the second half en route to the upset win.
Senior Brooke Marcum joined Patton in double figures for Lawrence County, scoring 12.
Floyd Central was led by sophomore Reagan Laferty, who scored 16 points. Brooklyn Sammons registered a double-double off the bench for the Lady Jaguars, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds.
