LEXINGTON, Ky. (WMDJ) – Floyd Central senior Braden Moore won a pair of medals, placing in the top 3 in two events Thursday at the Class 1A State & Field Track Meet at the University of Kentucky outdoor track facility.
Moore placed 2nd in the Boys Long Jump at 20-09.75. Moore also finished 3rd in the Boys High Jump at 6-02.00.
8th grader Wesley Buck also placed 10th in Boys High Jump for Floyd Central at 5-10.00.
Prestonsburg’s Dalton Elliott was 4th in the Boys 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 40.84. Elliott also led the Blackcats to a 7th place finish in the Boys 4X100 Meter Relay with a time of 44.62 along with Alex Harris, Bryan Amador and Christian Amador.
The Boys 300 Meter Hurdles featured Prestonsburg’s Bryan Maynard finishing 4th place at 40.84.
Prestonsburg’s Alex Harris also finished 8th in the Boys Triple Jump 40-07.25.
Floyd Central’s Brody Buck placed 10th in the Boys 110 Meter Hurdles.
Betsy Layne’s Karly Williams competed in three events finishing 7th in the Girls 200 Meter Relay at 26.52, 9th place in the Girls 100 Meter Dash and 13th in the Girls 400 Meter Dash.
Floyd Central’s Jerrilynn Hatfield placed 10th in the Girls 400 Meter Dash.
Floyd Central’s 4X100 Meter Relay team placed 9th as runners MaHayla Garcia, Kaylee Hall, Katie Stumbo and Chloe Crase finished with a time of 10:36.39.
Overall, Floyd Central’s boys finished 15th in state competition as a school with Prestonsburg finishing 17th.
