SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) – Magoffin County High School senior basketball standout Aden Barnett sealed up his intentions on Monday to play basketball at the next level, signing his letter of intent to play for the University of Pikeville for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Barnett (6’2” Senior) averaged 28.7 points per game, leading the Hornets to the school’s first 15th region championship and first-ever appearance in the Sweet 16 Tournament.

Barnett would drop 24 points in the Hornets opening round win over Perry County Central 54-47, advancing to the quarterfinals where their season concluded at the hands of Great Crossing.

Barnett finished as the all-time leading scorer at Magoffin County and joined the 3,000 point club this season during his senior season.
