EASTERN, Ky. (WMDJ) - The Floyd Central Jaguars will entertain rival Prestonsburg this Friday, February 2nd in two key district matchups.
The Lady Jaguars (7-12) are currently tied with Lawrence County for first-place in the 58th District with a (3-1) record. A win for Floyd Central over the Lady Blackcats would lock-up the number 1 seed in the upcoming District Tournament, starting February 26th.
Meanwhile, Prestonsburg head coach Brandon Kidd recently became the 2nd all-time wins leader in Lady Blackcats history. He'll be searching for the 100th victory of his coaching career when his ladies take the court. A win would also be a first-ever for Prestonsburg over Floyd Central. The Lady Jaguars defeated Prestonsburg 67-50 back on December 7th.
Since having their 6-game winning streak snapped, Coach Chase Parsley's Prestonsburg Blackcats (13-8) have dropped 3 of their last 4, including an 85-79 setback to Paintsville on Tuesday at home. Prestonsburg defeated Floyd Central (8-11) 77-72 on January 8th at the Fieldhouse.
Both games will be broadcast on WMDJ 100.1 FM and livestreamed on our WMDJ Facebook page beginning at 5:45 p.m. Friday evening.
