Maintenance Worker Killed After Being Struck by Semi-Truck at Louisa Gas Station

Category: Local News

LOUISA, Ky. (WMDJ) — A maintenance worker was killed Monday morning after being struck by a semi-truck at Falls Creek Exxon along U.S. 23 in Louisa.

According to the Louisa Police Department, the incident was reported around 5:50 a.m. after a worker discovered the victim.

Louisa Police Chief Steven Wilburn told WSAZ the maintenance worker was checking diesel containers due to rainy conditions when a semi-truck leaving the fuel pumps struck him.

Police say the driver apparently did not realize the worker had been struck and continued driving. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, identified the trucking company and contacted the driver, who immediately returned to the scene.

The maintenance worker was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.

No charges have been filed at this time, and the Louisa Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
