PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Johnson County man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a Floyd County home last month and assaulting two people inside.
According to an arrest warrant, Jesse James Adams, 35, of Van Lear, allegedly entered the home on September 20 and assaulted a man and a woman.
Investigators allege Adams struck the woman and shoved her into a sink, breaking it, before attacking the man. He is also accused of damaging walls and causing the bathroom to flood.
The warrant further alleges Adams kicked the woman's puppy off the porch as he was leaving.
Adams was arrested last week and faces charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, two counts of fourth-degree assault, and second-degree cruelty to animals.
The burglary charge carries a potential prison sentence of five to ten years if convicted.
