Two charged with meth trafficking following Dorton search

Category: Local News

DORTON, Ky. (WMDJ) – Two people face methamphetamine trafficking charges after Kentucky State Police searched a Cabin Fork home on October 2nd.

According to arrest citations, officers found suspected methamphetamine, scales and drug paraphernalia at the residence of Keith Dye, 46.

Bronis Fern Yates, 56, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, allegedly told police she brought approximately seven grams of methamphetamine from Indiana but said it was for personal use.

Both were charged with first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dye also faces a charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon after officers reported finding a handgun between couch cushions.

Yates was taken to the Pike County Detention Center. Dye was cited and released under a judge’s authority after the jail declined to accept him for medical reasons.

Both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
