MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Floyd County man was arrested in Magoffin County after deputies say a search for him lasted more than an hour.
According to court records, Cory Patton, of Printer, was wanted in Floyd County following an alleged vehicle pursuit. A warrant accuses Patton of reaching speeds of up to 105 mph, driving recklessly and endangering a police officer during the pursuit.
Magoffin County deputies say Patton later ran on foot when they attempted to make contact with him.
Deputies reported searching mountainous terrain and areas of high grass for more than an hour before locating Patton and taking him into custody.
Patton is facing several charges including.
- Reckless Driving
- Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License
- First-Degree Fleeing or Evading Police, Motor Vehicle
- First-Degree Wanton Endangerment
- First-Degree Wanton Endangerment of a Police Officer
- Second-Degree Fleeing or Evading Police, On Foot
Patton is currently lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
