PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Pikeville man was killed in an ATV crash last week in Pike County.

Kentucky State Police says the crash happened around 5:42 p.m. Thursday, August 27, on an ATV trail off Booker Fork in the Pikeville community.

According to the preliminary investigation, 74-year-old Billy Tackett was operating an ATV on the off-road trail when the vehicle went off the side of the trail and overturned.

Tackett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kentucky State Police Post 9 continues to investigate the crash.
