LONDON, Ky. (WMDJ) — One defendant has agreed to plead guilty and another is headed back to court in a federal methamphetamine case stemming from an alleged Pike County drug conspiracy.

Cathy L. McKinney has agreed to plea guilty to conspiring to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine. In the agreement, McKinney admits she regularly obtained methamphetamine from a supplier for resale and distributed more than 50 grams between August 2025 and March 2026. Prosecutors will seek dismissal of four additional drug charges against her.

Co-defendant Wayne L. Buzard remains charged with the conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.

Buzard’s rearraignment, originally set for Aug. 25, has been moved to Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m. in London because of a scheduling conflict. The order does not indicate whether he has reached a plea agreement.
