PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Pikeville man is facing drug charges following an investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 9.
Troopers with the Post 9 Street Crimes Unit were attempting to locate 45-year-old William Cody West on Aug. 17 as part of an ongoing drug investigation. He was found in the parking lot of the Scholar House apartments in downtown Pikeville and taken into custody.
KSP reports West was found with approximately 1.1 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and about two grams of suspected fentanyl.
Troopers also located 20 suspected pressed fentanyl tablets and drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle.
West was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges including first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine, first-degree possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with several unrelated arrest warrants.
