PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Jenkins man was arrested Monday after police say a hit-and-run investigation led to a chase and vehicle fire in Pike County.
Kentucky State Police responded to a reported crash on U.S. 23 near Dorton and were told the pickup involved had left the scene. Police later located the truck at the Kentucky Enterprise Industrial Park.
According to an arrest citation, 49-year-old Timothy Bolden allegedly refused to stop and continued driving after troopers deployed stop sticks. The truck eventually became stuck in a muddy area, where police say Bolden continued pressing the accelerator until the vehicle caught fire.
Officers removed Bolden from the burning truck before he was taken to a hospital and later jailed.
Bolden faces numerous charges, including DUI, reckless driving and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
