PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Pike County jury has convicted a Floyd County man on a first-degree sexual abuse charge stemming from a 2022 indictment.

Scotty Hall, 49, of Teaberry, was found guilty Aug. 11 after a trial that began the previous day in Pike Circuit Court. Jurors recommended a four-year prison sentence.

The indictment alleged Hall committed a sexual act in front of a child younger than 16.

Under Kentucky law, first-degree sexual abuse is a Class D felony carrying a maximum sentence of five years.

Following the verdict, Hall was booked into the Pike County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

Formal sentencing is set for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 8 before Pike Circuit Judge Howard Keith Hall.
