PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WMDJ) — A man wanted by Kentucky State Police was arrested Tuesday after allegedly fleeing from a Floyd County Sheriff’s deputy in Prestonsburg.

According to an arrest citation, Johnny Ray McQueen, 63, was wanted by KSP Post 7 on an arrest warrant when a deputy saw him walking to a vehicle parked on South Front Street.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but McQueen allegedly drove from the parking lot, damaging an electrical receptacle and a yard before traveling the wrong way on South Front Street at a high rate of speed.

The citation alleges McQueen nearly struck two women crossing the street before driving through the parking lot below Billy Ray’s Restaurant and into a grassy area.

McQueen allegedly stopped the vehicle and fled on foot before being arrested nearby.

He was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle and on foot, first-degree criminal mischief, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, failure to produce an insurance card, failure to wear a seat belt and no operator’s/moped license.
