ASHLAND, Ky. (WMDJ) — Addiction Recovery Care has named Eastern Kentucky behavioral health leader Randy Hunter as its new CEO, effective immediately.
Hunter currently serves as CEO of Prestonsburg-based Frontier Behavioral Health and will continue in that role while leading ARC. He has decades of experience in substance use disorder treatment and founded Frontier’s residential treatment centers in Eastern Kentucky.
Before entering behavioral health, Hunter served as a Kentucky State Police trooper and later worked as an investigator with the Kentucky Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. He also served as an FBI Task Force Officer and was the lead KSP investigator in Operation Flamingo Road, a major 2009 prescription drug investigation.
Hunter said ARC will remain focused on providing evidence-based treatment and individualized care for Kentuckians affected by addiction.
He succeeds Cassandra Webb, who had been serving as interim CEO. Webb will remain with ARC as president and chief operating officer, overseeing day-to-day operations and supporting the organization’s continued growth.
This announcement comes after former CEO Timmy Robinson Jr. was indicted earlier this year on one count of wire fraud and two counts of engaging in monetary transactions involving property derived from unlawful activity. Prosecutors allege he fraudulently sold rights to nearly $6.9 million in Employee Retention Tax Credits while serving as CEO of Addiction Recovery Care.
