PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — Citizens Bank of Kentucky is warning the public about mailings containing $10 checks from an organization using the name “Senior Benefits.”
In a Facebook post, the bank said people should use caution before cashing or responding to the checks.
According to the bank, the mailings may be part of a marketing or solicitation effort that could result in unwanted phone calls, visits or pressure to purchase products or services.
Anyone who receives one of the checks and has questions is encouraged to contact their bank before depositing it. Those who do not want to participate are advised to shred the check and any paperwork that came with it.
Citizens Bank also encouraged people to be cautious with unexpected financial offers and to seek guidance from their bank if they are unsure whether a mailing is legitimate.
