LINEFORK, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Letcher County man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash earlier this week.

Kentucky State Police said troopers and emergency personnel responded around 5:37 p.m. Wednesday to a crash on KY 1103 in the Linefork community.

The preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle operated by Charles Bentley, 67, of Linefork, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

Bentley and a female passenger were treated at the scene before being airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center.

KSP was notified Friday by the Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office that Bentley had died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Police said both Bentley and his passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

An autopsy has been scheduled, and toxicology results are pending. The collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
