TRAM, Ky. (WMDJ) — Floyd County Code Enforcement is investigating an illegal dumping site on Powell Branch in the Tram community after officials say trash and an abandoned boat were left along the roadway.
According to Code Enforcement, investigators found mail and other documents in the debris containing names and addresses believed to be connected to those responsible.
Officials say the individuals involved have 72 hours from Wednesday to contact the Floyd County Code Enforcement office and arrange for the site to be cleaned up. If they fail to respond, the county says criminal summonses will be sought through the Floyd County Attorney's Office.
County officials also reminded residents that Floyd County has mandatory weekly roadside trash collection and that free disposal is available on Mondays and Fridays to Floyd County citizens once a month at the Rumpke Floyd County Transfer Station in Martin.
Anyone needing assistance with waste disposal is encouraged to contact Floyd County Code Enforcement at 606-886-9193.
