BELFRY, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Belfry man was arrested Sunday after Kentucky State Police say a property line dispute ended with a neighbor being struck by a vehicle.
According to an arrest citation, troopers responded around 8:46 p.m. to North Big Creek Road after receiving a report of two men fighting.
Investigators said the argument involved neighbors Ethan Marcum and Robert Blankenship Sr. over a property line. During the incident, Robert Lee Blankenship Jr., 28, of Belfry, allegedly drove across the center line and struck Marcum in the knee with his vehicle.
Marcum was taken to Tug Valley ARH for treatment.
Blankenship Jr. told troopers the collision was accidental, but after interviewing witnesses and those involved, investigators determined he intentionally crossed the center line and struck Marcum, according to the citation.
Blankenship Jr. was charged with second-degree assault.
