Pike County man airlifted after crash involving stopped coal truck

FREEBURN, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Pike County man was airlifted Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash in the Freeburn community.

According to Kentucky State Police, the collision happened around 10:15 a.m. on State Highway 194 East.

The preliminary investigation indicates Morris Casey was driving a 2010 Ford Ranger eastbound when it struck the rear of a stopped coal truck. The truck had stopped because of road construction.

Casey was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
