META, Ky. (WMDJ) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning on U.S. 119 in Pike County.

According to KSP Post 9, the crash happened around 10:39 a.m. in the Meta community.

The preliminary investigation indicates Harley Dempsey was driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 119 when the vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Stony Blackburn.

Dempsey was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
