PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on U.S. 119 in Pike County.

Kentucky State Police Post 9 responded to the crash just before noon about a mile from the Phelps/Bent Branch exit.

The victim's identity has not been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Northbound lanes of U.S. 119 were closed for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigators worked the scene before reopening Tuesday afternoon.
