BELFRY, Ky. (WMDJ) — Five people were arrested after a Kentucky State Police investigation led to the seizure of more than two pounds of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl in Pike County.
State police say troopers stopped two vehicles believed to be traveling together in the Belfry community on June 25 after investigators developed information indicating the vehicles were transporting illegal drugs into Pike County.
During a search of the vehicles, detectives found suspected drugs hidden inside the driver and passenger-side door frames of one vehicle.
Investigators seized approximately 2 pounds, 7 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and about 2.5 ounces of suspected fentanyl.
Howard Burris, 20, of Akron, Ohio, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic-related offenses.
Carnell Archery, 24, of Akron, Ohio, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, public intoxication, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failing to wear a seat belt.
Zavion McCallister, 23, of Akron, Ohio, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, public intoxication, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Isaac Chapman, 28, of Pikeville, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic-related offenses.
Caitlin Griffith, 27, of Pikeville, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In the news release, KSP said that drug tips can be reported to investigators at Post 9 by calling (606) 433-7711 and that callers may remain anonymous.
