Former Floyd County Schools Employee Faces Federal Child Exploitation Charges

LONDON, Ky. (WMDJ) — A former Floyd County Schools employee already facing state charges involving a student has now been indicted on federal child exploitation charges.

Darion Breann Huff, 32, of Garrett, was employed as a teacher's assistant and tutor at Duff-Allen Central Elementary during the 2021-22 school year.

Huff was previously indicted in Floyd County on charges alleging she made advances toward and had sexual contact with a 14 year-old student.

A federal grand jury has now indicted Huff on charges of online enticement of a minor and receipt of child sexual abuse material.

According to the indictment, the online enticement charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life. The receipt charge is punishable by five to 20 years in prison.

Huff has been on home incarceration with work release while her state case is pending. Federal prosecutors have asked the court to issue a warrant for her arrest following the federal indictment.
