PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WMDJ) — Police are investigating after a vehicle struck multiple pedestrians and a building Friday afternoon at a local senior center.
According to Prestonsburg Police, an elderly driver was in the parking lot of the senior citizens center when the vehicle went into reverse and hit another elderly woman. The driver then accelerated, dragging the pedestrian for about 25 feet before hitting the building.
After the initial impact, the vehicle struck a bench under a canopy where two other elderly individuals were seated, injuring them.
The woman who was first hit was taken by helicopter to Pikeville Medical Center.
All of those involved were participants at the senior center.
No names have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
