Floyd County man charged with meth trafficking

GRETHEL, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Floyd County man is facing a felony charge after deputies say they found methamphetamine during a search of his home.

According to an arrest citation, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant April 16 at a residence along Ky. 979 in the Grethel community.

When deputies entered the home, they found 55-year-old Mark William King attempting to hide behind a closet door.

King was detained, and deputies say a search of his bedroom turned up baggies containing more than two grams of a substance he admitted was

methamphetamine, along with scales and additional baggies with residue.

King was taken to the Floyd County Detention Center and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine.
