PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A former Johnson County educator has pleaded guilty to a felony charge involving a minor.
Kevin D. Conley, 51, of East Point, entered the plea Monday in Johnson Circuit Court to unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in prohibited activity.
According to court records, the charge stems from an incident on Aug. 30, 2023, involving electronic communication. An indictment returned in December 2023 alleged Conley used electronic means, including devices such as computers or cell phones, in connection with the offense.
At the time of the incident, Conley was employed as a teacher at Johnson Central High School. School officials have previously confirmed he is no longer employed by the district.
Conley had been scheduled to stand trial on April 13, but the trial was canceled after a plea agreement was reached.
He is expected to be sentenced to one year in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 24.
