Pike County man arrested following reported drug deal

MARROWBONE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Pike County man is facing drug trafficking charges after a reported drug deal led to a search of his home.

According to an arrest citation, a caller reported seeing a woman in a silver Chevy Suburban receive drugs Sunday evening from a home on Left Fork of Dry Fork.

Kentucky State Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as 45-year-old Jessica Shell of Grundy, Virginia. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The information from that arrest was used to obtain a search warrant for the home.

During the search, officers reported finding two plastic bags containing an unidentified white powder, more than half a pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm inside a bedroom belonging to 53-year-old Homer Dwayne Hill.

Hill told police the powder was baking soda and denied involvement in drug trafficking. He also stated he no longer stays in the bedroom and rents it out.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of drug trafficking and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Hill is currently lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
