PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Floyd County man died following a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening in the Prestonsburg area.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to the scene around 6:37 p.m. on March 26 along Kentucky Route 1428.

Investigators say Shane Allen was operating a motorcycle when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by KSP Post 9 out of Pikeville and local first responders.
