Paintsville man arrested after search warrant tied to death investigation

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Paintsville man was arrested Thursday after police executed a search warrant as part of a death investigation.

 

According to the Paintsville Police Department, officers served the warrant at a home on Third Street in Paintsville.

 

Police said Michael Jennings was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense involving methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and being a persistent felony offender, second degree.

 

Authorities also said Jennings was served with an indictment warrant from Johnson Circuit Court for first-degree possession of a controlled substance involving methamphetamine and other drug-related charges.

 

Police said additional charges and arrests are pending as the investigation continues.

 

The Paintsville Police Department is asking anyone with information about illegal activity to call its tip line at 606-792-2706.
