HAZARD, Ky. (WMDJ) — A Perry County man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced in a case involving crimes against children.
Attorney General Russell Coleman announced Thursday that 58-year-old Harrison Cress received three life sentences without the possibility of parole. The sentence follows a recommendation from a jury last year.
Cress was found guilty in October on multiple felony charges involving minors under the age of 12.
Officials say the case involved several victims. The investigation began after one of the children reported the abuse to a family member, leading to interviews with Children’s Advocacy Centers in Hazard and Ashland.
Several victims provided statements during sentencing.
Kentucky State Police investigated the case with assistance from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecutors with the Attorney General’s Office handled the case.
