Two plead guilty in Pike County murder case

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WMDJ) — Two men have pleaded guilty in connection with a deadly shooting in Pike County.

According to court documents, Michael Brown pleaded guilty to murder. Anthony Browning pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of tampering with physical evidence.

The charges stem from a January 2025 shooting on Laurel Fork in the Steele community. Kentucky State Police responded to the scene after receiving a call about the incident.

The two men were charged along with a third suspect, Michael Shortridge, in the death of Christopher Lester.

Brown and Browning are scheduled to be sentenced April 23.

A pretrial conference for Shortridge is set for April 1.
