HAGER HILL, Ky. (WMDJ) — Two women died after a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Johnson County.
Kentucky State Police say the crash happened around 1:31 p.m. on March 12 on Kentucky Route 321 in the Hager Hill community.
Investigators say Retina Meek was driving a 2001 Buick when the vehicle crossed the center line and hit a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jason Kinner.
Police say Retina Meek and a passenger in the Buick, Anita Meek, were taken to medical facilities for treatment. Both later died from their injuries. The news release from KSP didn't say if Kinner was injured from the crash.
The crash remains under investigation. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the West Van Lear Volunteer Fire Department and Paintsville EMS.
