Second Defendant Expected To Plead Guilty In Floyd County Meth Case

LONDON, Ky. (WMDJ) — The second of two defendants charged in a federal meth trafficking case connected to Floyd County is expected to enter a guilty plea Thursday.

Briana Hunter, 31, of McDowell, was indicted along with Stephanie Hall, 32, of Maytown, on a charge of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

According to court records, the two were arrested in May 2024 after a Kentucky State Police trooper stopped their vehicle for excessive window tint. During the traffic stop, investigators reportedly found nearly half a pound of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Hall pleaded guilty to the charge last month and is scheduled to be sentenced May 21.

Hunter is now scheduled to appear in federal court in Lexington to enter a guilty plea to the same charge.

The offense carries a possible sentence of five to 40 years in federal prison.
