PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Prestonsburg man and woman were arrested Saturday after officers responding to a welfare check reported finding drugs and small children inside an apartment.
According to arrest citations, the Prestonsburg Police Department responded to an apartment on Cliffside Circle for a possible domestic violence situation.
Police reported knocking on the door several times and hearing movement and children crying inside. When the door opened, officers said they noticed a strong odor of marijuana.
Inside, officers made contact with 20-year-old Michael E. Blanton and 21-year-old Hannah M. Blanton. Both were described in citations as appearing intoxicated.
Police reported locating drug paraphernalia and items commonly associated with methamphetamine use in the apartment. Some of the items were allegedly within reach of several young children who were present.
