FRANKFORT, Ky. (WMDJ) — Crime rates have dropped nearly 8% statewide from 2023 to 2024.
Gov. Beshear released the 2024 Crime in Kentucky report on Tuesday, which indicates serious crimes dropping in 17 of 23 categories, including decreases in drug/narcotics offenses, homicides and decreases in sex offenses.
For the third consecutive year, overdose deaths decreased, with a 30% drop in overdose between 2023 and 2024.
