MARTIN, Ky. (WMDJ) – The city of Martin has announced that there will not be an Independence Day fireworks show this year.
Tourism officials expressed regret on social media blaming the rising costs of fireworks as the reason for not having a fireworks show this year.
The city of Martin also announced there are no activities planned for the 4th of July, yet they are working on reviving the Red, White & Blue Festival in October.
