Floyd County woman hiding cocaine in body cavity arrested, along with another man during traffic stop

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) – A Floyd County pair are behind bars following a traffic stop in Salyersville on Monday that led authorities to drugs.

Jeremiah Mahan, 31, and Melinda Hurd, 30, were both arrested and charged with trafficking in meth and other drug-related charges.

A Magoffin County deputy noticed a truck with a loud exhaust, broken taillight and no license plate traveling on Restaurant Row in Salyersville, leading to the arrests.

Hurd, who confessed to hiding a bag of cocaine in a body cavity, was also charged with trafficking in cocaine, promoting contraband and tampering with physical evidence.

Both were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
