Trial for suspended Pike County Circuit judge delayed

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WMDJ) – The trial for suspended Pike County Circuit judge Howard Keith Hall has been postponed until November.

An attorney for Hall filed a motion last month asking for a delay to prepare for the trial, claiming that the case was too complex to possibly present to a jury by July 14th. The defense was presented 3,800 separate documents of evidence by prosecutors to review.

Hall faces theft and mail fraud charges, accusing Hall of paying an unnamed county assistant attorney $440,000 over a 10-year period for, “almost no work.” Hall was also a partner with the unnamed attorney and paid “distributions” of nearly half a million dollars over a nine-year period.

Hall’s trial was postponed until November 10th.
