PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WMDJ) – Employees at Carl D. Perkins Job Corps in Prestonsburg have received their Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications this week.
Workers were informed the center would be closing between June 11th and June 25th.
Some employees spent Thursday picketing along Lancer-Watergap road drawing support to keep Job Corps open.
The U.S. Department of Labor announced last week that Job Corps center across the country would be closing as part of federal cuts.
