WMDJ says goodbye to radio family member Randy Humble

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WMDJ) – WMDJ is sadden to learn of the passing of a member of our radio family.

 

Randy Issac Humble, 65, of Printer, passed away early Tuesday morning at his residence after a prolonged illness.

 

Randy came to WMDJ in 2002 and has been a long-time fixture of our radio station. He was the host of the Sunday Morning Gospel Show from 6-9 a.m. Sundays and would also be heard filling in on various air-shifts over the years.

 

Randy served as a deacon of the Faith Independent Freewill Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his wife and family, bluegrass music and the Detroit Lions. You could hear Randy singing, “Homegrown Tomatoes”, on-air when Randy was working, and he’d always like to talk football.

 

Randy was born April 4th, 1960 in Belleville, Michigan. He was the husband of Martha Ann Mullins Humble. He is survived by his sons Brent Mullins of Printer, Larry Gene Mullins of Prestonsburg and Brody Mullins of Printer. Daughters Natalie Moore of Pilgrim and Savannah Mullins of Richmond, Ky. He also had 13 grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Faith Independent Freewill Baptist Church in Prestonsburg, with burial to follow in the family cemetery in Printer. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
